Be Still and Know that He is God
Waiting on God even in difficult moments to learn to lean on Him
When life is falling apart all around you and you seem to be bombarded continually left and right by problems that are out of your control and you just don’t know what else to do. I find myself literally sitting still in God’s presence and just letting go.
Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! - Psalm 46:10
In the Hebrew to “Be Still” doesn’t mean to be quiet it means to let go and give all your cares and anxieties to God.
I surrender all of my efforts to the power of God knowing that His Sovereignty is greater than mine. I have nothing else left to do but just surrender it all to Jesus because he has a plan and our final inheritance of Eternal Life in Him is greater than any other earthly inheritance we can receive or strive for.
It’s not to say that we can’t have beautiful things in this life. Like homes, cars, and belongings that make our homes warm. However, in the past year or so as I have found myself in a lonely season throughout college feeling lower than I have ever felt in my life. I realized that through all the loss and with all the success I can attain riches and fame are meaningless if we don’t have family and friends to share them with.
Even so, life is short and maybe God takes away a loved one from our lives leaving us to suffer. And even if everyone leaves He brings you into a space that’s just Him and you to remember that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
You just need to acknowledge Him and surrender all your cares into His presence.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7
